Vegan Nice Cream

Ice cream made healthy: Not only is ice cream mostly all dairy, it is also filled with a lot of refined sugars, artificial preservatives and sweeteners. Our bodies don’t recognize these substances, so it brings a lot of dysfunction into the digestive system. However, I don’t believe in labeling food as bad and good– it’s all about balance. Vegan ice cream is SO simple to make, healthy and seriously delicious. All you need are two base ingredients and then the flavour is up to you. My two favourite flavours are chocolate coconut and banana mint.

Here’s what you’ll need.

 Chocolate Coconut

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen banana (I chop my bananas up before I freeze them)
  • 1 tbsp dairy free milk (almond, coconut, cashew)
  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1-2 tbsp natural coconut flakes

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients in to a blender, and mix until desired consistency is achieved. Add more milk if necessary.

Banana Mint

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ of an avocado
  • ½ cup spinach
  • 2 fresh mint leaves
  • ½ cup or less of frozen mango

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients in to a blender, and mix until desired consistency is achieved. Add more milk if necessary.

 

That’s it! A simple, yummy dessert that is vegan, and clean.
